Ambassador Barbara Sušnik presented the Letter of Credence to the President of the State of Israel Mr. Reuven Rivlin
Jerusalem, 9 November 2015 – Ambassador Barbara Sušnik presented today to the President of the State of Israel Mr. Reuven Rivlin her Letter of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to the State of Israel. The Ceremony took place at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.
During the meeting with the President that followed the official presentation of credentials, the Ambassador Barbara Sušnik stressed the friendly relations between the countries and expressed her firm commitment to contributing to their further strengthening in all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in trade, science and culture.
President Reuven Rivlin emphasized good and friendly relations between the two countries despite certain divergences in views. He expressed interest in further developing comprehensive relations and made reference to the recent presentation of the Port of Koper in Tel Aviv and the strengthening of economic ties between the two countries . He recalled the tragic fate of Jews in the Second World War and highlighted the importance of the understanding and recognition of Israel as a Jewish state. President Rivlin warmly welcomed Ambassador Sušnik to Israel and wished her every success in her work.
After the Ceremony, Ambassador Barbara Sušnik visited the World Center for the Holocaust Research Yad Vashem.
