Visit of State Secretary Mr Dobran Božič with Slovenian Business Delegation to Israel

Tel Aviv, 21 June 2019 - State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Mr Dobran Božič has concluded a three-day visit to Israel, accompanied by a Slovenian Business Delegation, which included 17 representatives from 13 high-tech and start-up companies.

The main event of the visit was the Slovenia-Israel Business Forum at the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, where economic opportunities in both countries were presented, followed by business meetings between Slovenian and Israeli companies. After the business forum, a reception was held on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Slovenia. On behalf of the Israeli government, Minister of Justice of the State of Israel Mr Amir Ohana congratulated Slovenia on its national holiday.

During the visit, State Secretary Mr Božič met with senior representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation, cyber security and regional issues. Together with the Business Delegation, he visited the main Israeli institution in the field of innovation and start-ups - the Israeli Innovation Authority and the Start-up Nation Central. He also held a working lunch with representatives of the Israeli-Palestinian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In addition to the aforementioned institutions, the Slovenian Business Delegation visited other key players in the innovation ecosystem in Tel Aviv (innovation platform SOSA, culinary platform L28) and in Jerusalem (VC fund JVP, start-up accelerator MassChallenge and the leading Israeli high-tech company OrCam).

Honorary Consuls of Slovenia in Israel, Mr Adi Rosenfeld and Mr Eival Gilady, and the President of the Israel-Slovenia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Dror Dotan contributed significantly to the successful realization of the visit of State Secretary Mr Božič with the Slovenian Business Delegation.
